SMARTFERM dry fermentation plants are based on the proven KOMPOFERM® technology already developed and introduced to the market by Eggersmann Anlagenbau in 2007. In contrast to stationary waste treatment plants, SMARTFERM is the compact variant for the requirements of limited waste accumulation. The system is particularly well suited for the decentralized, i.e. local,, production of electricity and heat.

• Selective recycling of stackable substrates, suitable for throughputs of approximately 3,000 to 3,600 metric tons per year
• The biogas produced is utilized for the generation of electricity and heat. According to the quality of the input material, the following energy yields can be achieved:

75 – 150 kW electrical
115 – 200 kW thermal

• According to the system layout, fermentation residues are produced for post-treatment, compost RDF and a landfill fraction.
